A memorial to the Third Battalion Royal Australian Regiment (RAR) was unveiled on the Pathway of Honour on 27 March 2011. The monument was funded by federal and state government grants sought out by the RAR to commemorate their involvement in the Korean and Vietnam Wars. It was unveiled in 2011 in recognition of the sixtieth anniversary of Kapyong (a battle during the Korean War in April 1951) and the fortieth anniversary of the RAR’s second tour of Vietnam. According to Third Battalion RAR SA president Bob Whelan, the organisation has had a long association with SA based at Woodside from 1965 to 1981.
