Sculpture Unveiled

The Lord Mayor of the City of Adelaide unveiled a statue of Rene on the street of his birth, to commemorate his influence on the development of Australian art and entertainment

The Sir Edwin Smith Kiosk opens

Sir Edwin Smith was a very active mayor for Adelaide. He was a philanthropist and paid for the construction of a kiosk in Elder Park, which opened on 17 March 1910.

The new St Patrick’s Church is dedicated

By the early twentieth century St Patrick’s Church was too small for its congregation. A much larger building, said to be based on the Church of the Holy Spirit in Florence, was designed by the architects Woods and Bagot. The foundation stone for the new church was laid on 10 November 1912. The completed church was dedicated on 15 March 1914.
