Known as the Iron Stores, the semicircular warehouses were the first waterfront warehouses in the colonyโprefabricated in Britain, the Iron Stores were shipped to South Australia on the Buffalo in 1836 and erected at the old port, upstream of todayโs Inner Harbor. The Iron Stores were shifted to Nile Street after the Port moved to its current location in 1840.
