The memorial was shifted to the East Parklands, on the corner of East Terrace and Botanic Road. It was installed by SD Tillet Ltd and reopened on 18 April 1967 in time for the Anzac Day commemoration.
Unveiled by Lady Muriel Barclay-Harvey on 19 April 1941. Around 2000 people were reported to have attended.
