The Royal Regiment of Australian Artillery
The Artillery regiment of the Australian Defense Forces was granted the Royal prefix on 19 September 1962 by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Upon granting this title, Queen Elizabeth II was also given the title of Captain General of this regiment. The motto of the corps is “Where right and glory lead” and is stated in Latin ‘Quo fas et gloria ducunt’.
Whilst the artillery corps is recognized for providing indirect fire support for the infantry, their other roles also include assisting with surviellance, target acquisition and ground-based air defence.
