The new State Bank building is constructed

Built between 1986 and 1987 the thirty-one-storey State Bank building was the tallest building in Adelaide. Following the collapse of the State Bank in 1991, the building was taken over by the South Australian energy company Santos in 1997, but reverted to its banking origins in 2007 when the Westpac Bank secured naming rights.
