The Training School is constructed

In 1874 the Central Board of Education invited architect Edward John Woods to submit plans for a training school given his previous successful design for the Model School. The slate-roofed, bluestone building with a gabled front entrance was constructed in 1875–76 by Brown & Thompson. In 1909–10 the single-storey building was transformed into a two-storey facility.
