The rotunda is erected
The rotunda is erected

The rotunda was made at Macfarlane’s Saracen Foundry in Glasgow and shipped from London. It is constructed of decorative wrought iron with a zinc roof and on arrival it was painted bronze, grey and blue. The rotunda officially opened on 28 November 1882.
